Does anyone have this? Does it only affect the toenails or both finger and toes?
I feel my dad may possible have this since his toenails are awful. Not sure if it's due to fungus or not, but his fingernails look okay.
Any thoughts.

I recently discovered that my lymphedema was related to gouty arthritis, as I posted in another topic.

I began researching gout, and have been on an anti-gout diet for a couple of months. I'd developed yellow crusty nails about a year ago and never dreamed it could be related to my other problems. However, in the past two months, the new nail growth (bottom half of my big toenail, for example) is clear!

I believe it may be related somehow. It wouldn't hurt to get your dad's uric acid level checked, and have him eat cherries (or take powdered cherry supplements) while avoiding red meat, organ meats such as hot dogs, sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, etc.) to see if it helps him.

Good luck!
