Why does my leg not hurt when it is ripped open by my dog

Postby Cindy » Sat Dec 16, 2006 9:13 pm

Hello everyone. I had a bad experience today. My big dog jumped up on me as I sat on the edge of the bed. She raked my left leg really bad. I bled really bad. She opened several blesters on my leg. I have limph. in both legs. I guess it is in stage 2 or 3. But what my question is why didn't it hurt?? Should I be afraid?? I can't feel my hand touching my leg on the top of the skin. But if I push down deep I can feel it. Sometimes it hurts. I am on meds for infection all the time. I keep my legs clean and covered. I have no medical coverage. My GP knows little to nothing about Limph. He says this is no big deal. I talk to other Doc.s but I can find no one who really knows or cares to do reserch to find out to help me.

Don't sit back and let thiem ignore you hun

I am in the UK i know of many memebers fights to get help in reconition
medical care , insurance , and social security medicare covarafe.

Lots of our members print of information from here to take to there doctors
ER rooms clinics.

Any wound thit is open made by an animal should be attened to
more so with lymphedema your emmune system needs help to fight infection.

you need help from a lymphedema specialist we dont have to many of them in the UK dermatologists can help. vascular doctors,
failing your own GP is there a lymphedema therapist within you telephone area that you could possibley ring for advice on where to find a specialist?

Check out the information Pat has here on doctors and clinics ad therapists. Also there is information on medicare and social security disability. have a good read Cindy and get back to us
But i would be at ER with this wound it sounds like it needs definate attention.
